Dubbing Theater

Last week our group did the presentation--Dubbing Theater! For me, this is really a new experience because i've never done this kind of activity before. Before doing this, i thought it wasn't that hard; however, its obiously that i underestimated it. We had to imitate the accent and follow the speed as possible as we could. Well, it was really not an easy thing, but we did it! Aad i will cherished this experience!

Motivations of Learning

Lsat week we talked about some definations of learning. For example, behavior defination(that is M&M theory) and cognitive defination. These two definations are totally diffrent. In my opinion, i think "cognitive defination" is more useful and realistic. For I think that learning a language cannot just rely on rewards. After all, we should learn it by ourselves, EFL teachers can only motivate students' interest in learnig, but cannot decide whether students like it or not. Therefore, if i am an EFL teacher, maybe i will give little rewards to my studnts in some time, but not always. I will teach them that they should gave a correct attitude toward learning, they should rewarded by themselves.

Autonomy

Today we learned a new term--Autonomy, it means that students learn things actively. I think this is really a new thinking in recent years; because in th past, if students didn't perform well on schoolwork, most people would blame on teachers. However, i think the autonomy of student is more important than teachers' instruction. Since if a student don't learn actively, after all, he will learn nothing. Besides, i think motivation is also an important factor to situmilate students to learn, learning something we like is the best motivation of being a automatic learner! After all, learning is our students' responsibilities, not teachers'.

C.L.T

Today we learned a new term--"CLT." It means "communicative language teaching." It makes me start to think about a question-- If one day i become a teacher, which part should i focus on, GRAMMAR or FLUENCE? well, in fact both of the two parts are important, But Maybe i will focus much more on FLUENCE, because i still think"communicative ability" is essential. Like when i talk to our foreign teacher, actually they don't mind my english grammar or some wrong spelled words; theerefore, i prefer FLUENCE. However, in Taiwan's Entrace Exams, they still emphasis GRAMMAR. Hmm, so if i am a English teacher, i will seperate my course into two parts and focus on different subjects. Hmm, that way, may students won't exclude English from their lives.

10/21Reflection

Today Mr.Wei told us that after two weeks we have to do a special presentation--Readers Theater! I think it is interesting and it recalls me when i was an elementary school student, our teacher also asked us to performe a fairy tale; we could dress up the roles in stories we loved ; however, what difference is that this presentation(Readers Theater) can only use our voices to present a story, i think it will be a little more difficult and challenged! Anyway, i will try my best!

Four Elemnts of Teaching

This week Mr.Wei concludes four important elements of teaching--teachers/students/curricula/Instructional Environment.

I think "students" is the most important element of teaching, because suppose the teachers, teaching environment and curricula are perfect, but students don't want to learn or having a passive attitude toward learning, that the other three factors are hard to work out.

However, my friend, cloee thought that "teachers" is the most important factor of learning, she said that excluding the factor "student", teachers can handle the other three elements, therefore, she thinks teacher is a very important role of teaching.

Well, in fact, both of teachers and students are very important, ,after all, learning and teaching are related to each other.

Ways of Teaching

Last week Mr.Wei taught us that there are many ways to teach students; however, there's one way that impressd me very much--Interactive Approach. I like this method because students can seperate into several groups and discuss in the class, i think this can increase the chances of speaking. And the climate in class wouldn't be so dull, that way, students may become more active in learning.
In the other hand, i hate the Army Method the most, because this is too strict that just let learners want to escape the class room. Learning should not be so serious and nervous, but some cram school may use the method to teach; however, i still don't like it.
